Is not making the top 100 shows on cable a bad sign for TNA?……. NO!

TNA iMPACT wrestling did not make the top 100 shows on cable this past week and of course wrestling fans are saying this is another example of the companies failures. Which to me is just another example of how wrestling fans and certain  number of wrestling media outlets are quick to either love or hate something on the turn of a dime.

My opinion on this is if TNA was really failing was truly failing then I think we would have seen a statement from Spike TV saying that TNA is not longer apart of the Spike TV family, then I may say they have a point. I need to tell all fans and all my colleagues who write for all different publications including the people over at F4W Online, who I have a deep respect for but at the same time they tend to jump to more conclusions than a base jumper in Acapulco.

The ratings sometimes don’t mean that wrestling fans are not watching it means that people who are not true wrestling fans are not watching. It also means that more people are watching WWE which is not a good thing for TNA but they have something that WWE does not have which is wrestlers that hardcore fans do want to see such as The Wolves, Sanada, and Tiger Uno. This abundance of talent is a sign that over time with the right bookers and writers that TNA could return to the great time it was in the early 2000’s.

I feel compelled to compare the WWE to TNA in this post because for some people might not know or understand my comments, here is the best way I can compare these two companies. The WWE is like the New York Yankees in the 1990’s and TNA is like the Atlanta Braves of the 1990’s. WWE always wins the wrestling ratings battle because of their strong marketing and their long history of being winners in the business, and TNA is the team that no matter how much talent they truly have they are never able to get over the hump because no matter how hard they try there is always the stigma of bad booking and bad timing. Yes TNA has hit some home runs in the past with story lines and characters that people like, but at the same time they will always be the red headed step children of this business.

So in closing of this article I need to tell the wrestling fans and media outlets please give them a chance support them financially and keep them alive because in this industry competition is what keeps the business fresh new and exciting don’t listen to what other people say make your own decisions and keep an open mind to everything that goes on.
